INTRODUCTION

A third smaller than the SOMNOscreen™ plus, the new power-house SOMNO HD™ offers excellent signal quality of up to 4 kHz sampling rate per channel. The high-resolution touchscreen allows a simple and intuitive operation.  In addition, the signal- and impedance-controls can be seen directly on the display at the patient’s bedside. 

In addition, our Home Sleep Camera is a ground breaking solution for synchronous video in an ambulatory setting – especially where reimbursement demands video e.g. for paediatric ambulatory polysomnography or using it as mobile polysomnography in a hospital environment where you need synchronous video, but can’t have online recording due to network restrictions.

SOMNO HD™ - THE FUTURE OF AMBULATORY PSG

The future is here – our most powerful and flexible sleep diagnostic system. The SOMNO HD™ is a new generation of PSG with 55 channels (10 internal, 28 external, 17 EXG via the headbox) which can be upgraded to 70 channels, they are recorded at a resolution of up to 4 kHz per channel. Excellent signal quality goes without saying.

With intelligent connect, the new montage free sensor recognition, you can connect any sensor to any slot and also change it during the measurement. If an installation on the PC has been selected before the cable is connected, the device will indicate any missing sensors. Incorrect measurements due to forgotten or incorrectly connected sensors are thus excluded. Even without assembly, the measurements can now be started directly on the device.

Thanks to the integrated data transmitter, the SOMNO HD™ plus always works wirelessly. This allows additional  remote signal control of the measured data: You get a screenshot of the measured data on your smartphone, tablet or computer. This way, you always know whether a patient’s home measurement is working properly, giving you peace of mind. In addition, the measurement is saved on the memory card of the SOMNO HD ™ – no data is lost!

Not only the data transmission is wireless – our sensors are the same! We offer the first wireless EMG sensors for PLM conduction for additional patient comfort.

Intelligent Connect

The new Intelligent Connect technology simplifies your day-to-day work in the sleep lab by automatically recognizing which sensor has been attached.

This allows the plug-in slots for the sensors to be freely selectable and sensors can even be changed or added during the measurement.  Faulty measurements, due to incorrectly attached sensors, are now a thing of the past.  If a montage is selected on the PC before the sensors are attached to the patient, the device will show an optical signal that a sensor may be missing.

Even without a pre-set montage, the sensor measurement can be started directly from the SOMNO HD™ – simply plug in the desired sensor and begin the measurement.

Unique Wireless Sensor Technology

The SOMNO HD™ is capable of accepting up to 6 wireless sensors – the first of these to be made available is the wireless PLM sensor package. More will follow in the future.

Docking station for simplified handling

The docking station is used to download the measurement data, charge the SOMNO HD™ Li-Ion battery and to install regular, free of charge firmware updates as long as you are connected to the internet. This means your SOMNO HD™ can be always up to date.

A virtual docking station also appears on your PC and shows the actual status of the device and the battery.

Of course, the SOMNO HD™, like the other SOMNOmedics devices, also offers real-time telemetric data transfer to the PC or tablet PC. In addition, the measurement data is saved on an internal memory and can be transferred at the end of the night via the docking station. So no measurement is lost.

Ambulatory Video Workflow

  1. Initialise a recording with SOMNO HD™ and the Home Sleep Camera.
    Both devices need to be connected to the same PC: The SOMNO HD™ via its docking station, and the Home Sleep Camera via LAN cable.
  2. Give SOMNO HD™ and Home Sleep Camera to the patient.
  3. Patient set up camera at home in the evening: Assembles the tripod, connects to a power supply. The video recording will start automatically
  4. Patient packs up the video and tripod and gives the whole package back to the physician
  5. Transfer recording including video. Both devices need to be connected to the same PC: The SOMNO HD™ via its docking station, and the Home Sleep Camera via LAN cable.

How does it work?

SOMNOmedics uses an innovative patented algorithm to measure blood pressure via the Pulse Transit Time (PTT). The PTT is the time required for the pulse wave to propagate along the vessel wall between two defined points. In the case of the SOMNOtouch™ RESP – From the left ventricle of the heart (defined by the ´R´peak of the ECG) – to the detection of the pulse wave at the finger tip (detected by the plethysmograph).

Taking a one point calibration at the beginning of the sleep study allows us to `set` the software‘s algorithm – and measure blood pressure continuously throughout the measurement. Because every single pulse wave is detected, a continuous “Beat-to-Beat”- recording and analysis is possible. Reduce artifacts and increase the number of reliable data points – all in a continuous, non-invasive and non-reactive way.
